THE BUZZ: Last month, GamePro reported on the Korean Ratings Board potentially outing the once PSN exclusive Joe Danger coming to XBLA in some sort of new special edition version. Hello Games, the creator of Joe Danger, finally confirmed those reports, stating that the game should be released during this holiday season—ahead of its sequel, Joe Danger: The Movie.
The special edition label is referring to new environments, characters, and levels specifically designed for the Xbox 360 edition, which should double the amount of gameplay over the PSN version. Additionally, Hello Games is including a Laboratory mode, described as a ”test tube of gameplay bubbling away.”
EGM’s TAKE: It looks like Joe and his stack of yellow school buses were just too big to be contained by PSN alone. We’re glad Hello Games is expanding the franchise into a new market to reach a new audience.
Laboratory mode and its description sound like something out of a Valve game, but as anyone that’s familiar with Joe and his exploits can tell you, the whimsy Mr. Danger will probably feel right at home with whatever is thrown at him (or whatever he is thrown from). No word yet if PSN gamers will get the special edition content as DLC, but we’ll cross our fingers.
