A NeoGaf poster spotted a status update from John Romero’s Facebook page that suggests he may be collaborating with Square Enix on a new project.

The long-celebrated videogame designer updated his Facebook status on Friday saying, “Now let’s get a deal done. — at Square Enix.” “Square Enix” was tagged with their El Segundo, California office.

Romero is best known for co-founding id Software and his work on Doom and Quake.

Unfortunately, that’s all we know at this point—I leave the rest up to you, listeners. Commence speculation!
