Last year, Jason West and Vince Zampella – the former heads of Infinity Ward and the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developers – were let go by Activision. Following that, a legal war between the two sides broke out.
West and Zampella sued Activision, saying that they had been denied royalty money due to them from the crazy success of Call of Duty. In response, Activision counter-sued, saying that the pair has been not only unreliable, but also secretly in talks with EA during their time working at Activision.
The back and forth has been going on for some time now, but a new detail has now hit: a judge has ruled that “West and Zampella have sufficient claims against Activision.”
If the case ends up going through, the trail could begin later this year.
