Rocket League

Rocket League is no stranger to DLC tie-ins with summer blockbusters, but the upcoming Jurassic World Car Pack DLC might be its most exciting yet.

Sure, the new Jeep Wrangler with both Jurassic Park and Jurassic World decals (depending on your team color) is cool, as are the new antenna flags and hardhat topper. But the best part about the new car pack is the T. rex goal explosion. That seems worth the $1.99 price tag alone.

According to developer Psyonix, the Jeep Wrangler will have the same hitbox as the Octane, making it a potential favorite in competitive matches. But if you don’t like the new car, don’t worry: the T. rex goal explosion isn’t tied to the Wrangler specifically, meaning you can use any car you want and still summon a roaring dinosaur when you score.

The Jurassic World Car Pack DLC will launch on June 18th, a week after Beach Blast, the upcoming summer-themed, in-game event that will add items that can be unlocked by simply playing the game.

Following that, Rocket League will get ready for its third anniversary event in July. Psyonix hasn’t released any details about what it has planned for its birthday, but it’s expecting to launch the game’s new progression system and cross-platform party system in the next couple of months. Additionally, Rocket League Championship Series’ season five finals are kicking off on June 8th, so Rocket League fans have plenty to look forward to over the summer.

Rocket League is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
