Just Cause 3 multiplayer functionality was set aside by the previous mod creator, but a new team of modders is here to save the day with the launch of their own multiplayer beta.
As Just Cause fans will remember, Just Cause 2 had an extensive online feature that was introduced thanks to the modding community. The lead creator responsible for this multiplayer had to cancel their work on the third installment due to a job offer by developer Avalanche Studios. All hope seemed lost for Just Cause 3 until the modding group Nanos GbR picked up the mantel.
Nanos wasted no time in getting the social experience out to fans with the multiplayer’s first trailer announcing the launch of the open beta.
The mod, which can be downloaded from the group’s website, will offer the necessary files for anyone to host their own server and create game modes.
The full experience is expected to launch in a 1.0 version sometime in January or February of 2017 when players can finally enjoy all of the game’s mayhem with friends. The multiplayer mod beta is exclusive to the PC version of the game?as presumably the full mod will be?although the developer has considered bringing such modding opportunities to consoles.
