Apparently there’s a new Mortal Kombat game on the way, and new Naked Snake/Big Boss Keifer Sutherland is in it, according to the man himself.
During a recent interview with IGN about taking over the role of Snake in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain, Sutherland compared to role to another videogame project: Mortal Kombat.
“I did Mortal Kombat, and that’s such a huge game, but it’s so not like [MGS5],” he said.
Developer NetherRealm Studios, the company behind the 2011 reboot, has neither confirmed nor denied Mr. Sutherland’s comment. It seems more than likely, however, that coming off of Injustice: Gods Among Us the studio would return to the series they breathed new life into. What role, exactly, Keifer Sutherland is playing in Mortal Kombat remains a mystery. Perhaps a new combatant? Or would it be “kombatant.” Ugh, videogames.
Also, I don’t actually believe Keifer Sutherland is stealing jobs. I shouldn’t have to point out the joke, but better play it safe. It’s a goof!
