Killer Instinct

Microsoft is planning to release a second season of fighters for Killer Instinct on Xbox One in 2014, according to creative director Ken Lobb.

The free-to-play reboot is set to release as a launch title for Xbox One in November. It contains one free character and a further five will be made available at launch, priced at $4.99 each. Two more characters are planned for release post-launch.

Lobb has now revealed that the plan is to release eight more characters in 2014 for the same price. “You can pay $20 again and now you have 16 characters, or you pay $40 again and you’ll get the everything version,” he told Eurogamer.

The plan is to release these season packs every year for the life of Xbox One.
