Killer Instinct will launch without an Arcade mode, game designer Daniel Fornace informed Official Xbox Magazine during a recent interview.

According to Fornace, the Arcade mode will only be added into Killer Instinct once all eight characters are available. The game will only launch with six fighters. Two others, one of which is known to be Spinal, the other of which is speculated to be either Fulgore or Cinder, will be added in post-launch.

“Our Arcade mode is going to come out when we’ve done the eight characters, Microsoft Game Studios game designer Daniel Fornace told OXM. “So it’s not going to be at launch, at launch we’re going to have six—Orchid’s the last—and then we’ll have two more following up post-launch.”

“So once the last character comes out then we’ll have Arcade,” Fornace added. “But int he meantime we have Survival. And Survival is like our endless mode.”

Killer Instinct launches exclusively for the Xbox One alongside the console itself come November 22.
