Killzone

Something Killzone is about to come this way, an image shared on the series’ official Twitter account indicates.

Earlier today, Sony and/or Guerrilla Games tweeted the above image alongside one simple word: “Soon.” The character portrayed looks Helghast-y, but not-quite-Helghast at the same time. More notable, and probably more relevant, are the symbols in his/her/its eyes, which represent Killzone: Mercenary’s in-game currency, “valor.”

Since Guerrilla Games is presently working on a new IP with the working title “Horizon,” rumored to involve cyborg dinosaur creatures and other craziness, current speculation at the EGM office is that Guerrilla Cambridge is either working on a follow up to Killzone: Mercenary or bringing a remastered version of the Vita shooter to PS4.

Killzone: Mercenary launched on Vita in 2013, and while Josh considered it “the best FPS on the vita to date,” he noted in his review how that doesn’t, by any stretch, make it “a particularly good one by big-boy shooter standards.”
