The Xbox One will launch with a free, “trial experience” of Kinect Sports Rivals called Kinect Sports Rivals Preseason, Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb announced today.
Preseason will only feature wake racing, one of six sports that’ll appear in the full version. By playing wake racing, players can unlock in-game rewards through monthly multiplayer challenges that will be held from launch through March 2014 (presumably when the game proper launches). These challenges can be tracked through the Kinect Sports Rivals Hub, which will be available for download with Preseason.
Kinect Sports Rivals was originally slated to be an Xbox One launch title. Its delay was announced in July, with Microsoft citing developer Rare needing additional time to polish the title.
Kinect Sports Rivals Preseason will be available alongside the Xbox One November 22 in North America and Europe.
