GimmeGimmeGames noticed that Square-Enix’s French store had the game listed for release on July 27, 2012, before quickly being changed to a vague 2012 date. If the date is correct then expect the game to hit the U.S. July 24.
Dream Drop Distance sees King Mickey and Yen Sid preparing for a mystery threat by putting Sora and Riku through the Mark of Mystery exam. Both characters will be playable in the game.
EGM’s TAKE: Based on how quickly the date was changed it’s possible this is in fact the official release date. It’s also possible that it was just a mistake. Fans are pretty excited about getting their hands on another Kingdom Hearts title. However, the team is still putting off the game that we all truly want, Kingdom Hearts 3. The spin-offs are all well and good but they can never replicate the thrill of playing the first two major titles.
