Kingdom Hearts

It seems Kingdom Hearts III‘s E3 reveals weren’t over. In a new trailer, Square Enix has confirmed the return of a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed world.

Debuted during PlayStation’s E3 press conference, the new footage shows Sora, Donald, and Goofy hitting the high seas on the iconic Black Pearl to go on another adventure with the witty Captain Jack Sparrow. As seen in the trailer below, the ships won’t just be for sailing, though, as naval combat will be a new feature to the series.

With the power of the world’s Keyblade, Sora will be able to enter into two transformations—High Wind and Storm Flag. Both finishers appear to give the Keyblade a wide reach for taking out large waves of enemies. Sora will even be able to dive underwater and use the weapon as a propeller to swim faster.

Following in line with the other recent reveal trailers, another member of Organization XIII has been confirmed to return. Luxord, who Sora and the gang fought and defeated in Kingdom Hearts II, will appear in the Pirates of the Caribbean area to search for the previously teased mysterious black box. Fans were also treated to a short glimpse of Kairi and Axel waiting for command on Destiny Islands.

Square Enix also announced a limited edition Kingdom Hearts-themed PlayStation 4 Pro console will launch next year, as well as an all-in-one collection of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 for PlayStation 4.

Kingdom Hearts III will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29th, 2019.
