Players will be able to explore a world based on Disney’s Big Hero 6 in Kingdom Hearts III, Square Enix’s Shinji Hashimoto announced at the D23 Expo.
In the game, Sora and his companions will travel to the film’s fictional setting of San Fransokyo, home of the film’s star Baymax. According to the publisher, the events in the game will take place shortly after the film’s ending.
?Big Hero 6 is such a special film for me – and we always made sure that each action sequence had a very special meaning,” producer Roy Conli said. “The themes in Kingdom Hearts and Big Hero 6 match very well. For instance there?s friendship, really important to both stories, and then of course light over darkness.?
At E3 back in June, Square Enix and Disney announced that the game will also feature a world based on the animated film Tangled.
Kingdom Hearts III is in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
