The final Kingdom Hearts game arriving before Kingdom Hearts III, a mysterious virtual reality experience, has been delayed a month.
According to Gematsu, the launch of Kingdom Hearts: VR Experience for PlayStation VR has been moved from December 25th to January 18th, 2019. Due to this, part two of the game, which was initially set to arrive on January 18th, 2019, will now hit PlayStation VR in spring 2019.
This means fans won’t be able to get the first part of VR Experience until a few days before the official launch of Kingdom Hearts III. It’s unclear why Square Enix had to make such a drastic change to the release schedule, but with the game’s second part arriving well after Kingdom Hearts III‘s launch, there’s a chance it could include scenes from that game.
The VR game is still rather mysterious, though, so there could have already been Kingdom Hearts III teases planned. All we know so far is that it will run like an interactive music video, featuring songs and “favorite memories from the storied franchise.”
When Kingdom Hearts: VR Experience does launch on January 18th, 2019, it will be free to all owners of PlayStation VR.
Meanwhile, Kingdom Hearts III will arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29th, 2019.
