Knack Will Feature Local Co-Op Designed to Aid Younger Players in Their Playthrough

Posted on August 21, 2013 AT 01:00pm

Knack will feature a local co-op mode designed to help younger children by giving them a buddy, creator Mark Cerny informed Joystiq.

Said co-op mode will feature a silver robotic version of Knack that can also battle baddies and graft their parts onto itself to grow stronger. The robot can also send his parts over to Knack to help bolster his strength when taking too much damage. The idea, according to Cerny, is for a parent to be able to jump in and assist their five- or seven-year-old child in order to prevent their playtime from becoming frustrating if too challenging.

Cerny designed Knack to be a family-friendly game. The designer put a lot of thought into approaching the game from the mindset of someone under ten years of age.

Knack launches alongside the PlayStation 4 on November 15 in North America, November 29 in Europe.
