Kojima Confirms Playable Metal Gear Rising Demo At E3 2012

THE BUZZ: Metal Gear Solid Creator Hideo Kojima has confirmed that a demo for Metal Gear Solid Rising: Revengence will be playable at this year’s E3.

The news arrives courtesy of the latest Famitsu issue which features an interview with Kojima and the game’s developer, Platinum Games’ CEO Tatsuya Minami and producer Atsushi Inaba.

EGM’s TAKE: Metal Gear Solid Rising has been on fans radars for quite some time now, however a lot of people, myself included, are very worried about this new direction. The core mechanic in Metal gear games is the ability to use stealth, to sneak behind enemies and snap necks. However, Revengence appears to be going down more of an arcade route which will not sit well with fans, especially with Raiden, probably the most hated character in the franchise, taking the lead role again. Although we feel that Revengence will be a hit, it may be shunned by the franchise’s core fanbase for being a black sheep.
