Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has explained why Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will not include a Platinum Trophy.
A few days ago it was revealed that the game will feature 15 Trophies that mirror the 15 Achievements in the Xbox version of the game, however one of these will not be a Platinum. Kojima took to Twitter to explain that reason for there being no Platinum is that Sony will not allow non-full price games to have one.
“The reason GZ doesn’t have Platinum Trophy in PS4 is due to SONY’s regulation,” he wrote. “They won’t allow us to have them for non-full price game.”
Kojima only mentioned the PlayStation 4 version, but presumably it will be the same on PlayStation 3. The game includes 13 Bronze, one Silver, and one Gold Trophy.
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will be available from tomorrow, March 18 in North America and from March 21 in Europe for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
