Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has praised the PlayStation 4’s power, stating that Sony’s console is able to render 1080p at 60fps with “room to spare.”

Kojima made these comments in a recent “conversations with creators” interview with Sony Computer Entertainment Japan published in Famitsu (translated by DualShockers). “I think, between the home consoles available in the domestic market, the PS4 is the best,” he said.

“It’s also excellent for graphics, being able to render 1080p at 60fps with room to spare. Since it does it a little better than other hardware, the image quality of the PS4 is the most beautiful. It’s the closest to the photorealistic quality we are aiming at.”

Kojima has previously announced that he is currently working on a trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes that will highlight the resolution and frame rate differences between the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4 versions of the game.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is set to release March 18 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
