The price of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on PS4 and Xbox One is being lowered from $39.99 to $29.99 for both retail and digital versions, Konami announced today.
No doubt the decision to bring the next-gen versions’ prices in line with their current-gen counterparts (which have always been $29.99 for physical copies, $19.99 for digital on Xbox 360 and PS3) is a direct response to concerns expressed about Ground Zeroes’ price given its reported 2-hour length.
To be clear, the length of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes isn’t terribly inappropriate, seeing how it serves as a prologue to the full MGSV release The Phantom Pain—a taste to tide fans over until its release.
Purchasing Ground Zeroes also nets players access to DLC for The Phantom Pain, including resources for the Mother Base, including POWs and VIPs rescued in Ground Zeroes and character skins.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes launches on Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, and PS4 March 18 in North America.
