Konami Offering To Exchange Your Busted Silent Hill HD Xbox 360 Copy

Posted on August 11, 2012 AT 11:10am

Since there’s no incoming patch for Silent Hill HD Collection‘s Xbox 360 port, Konami is taking an extra step to make sure that anyone who bought the game can at least get some type of compensation. Granted, a full refund would be optimal, but the developer/publisher is instead offering another game from their library.

Konami shared the news on the official Silent Hill Facebook page, detailing the steps involved:

If you purchased Silent Hill HD Collection for the Xbox 360 new and from a recognized retailer, and still have the original receipt, please send your receipt to Konami Customer Service for verification and further details on how to exchange your product. This offer is only valid for Silent Hill HD Collection (XBOX 360 version) games purchased on or before 08.08.2012. All requests must be made in writing and submitted on or before 10.07.2012 and is subject to availability. Any inquiries received after this date will not fall under this exchange program. This offer valid for purchases made in North and South America.

Note: The patch for Silent Hill: Downpour for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is still currently in development and scheduled for release at a later date.

It’s not a good look for Konami, especially given that the company admitted they released Silent Hill HD Collection when the code was incomplete. Even though a patch was eventually released for the PS3 version, it looks like the Xbox 360 version will stay dead in the water for now.

Notably, this isn’t the first time that a developer/publisher has decided to drop a patch for Xbox 360, as Polytron stated earlier this summer that FEZ wouldn’t see its ‘saved game’ bug fixed due to the high costs of resubmission on Xbox Live. Additionally, copies of Silent Hill HD Collection on Xbox 360 might have sold poorly enough for the company to justify canceling a patch.
