Talk is going around today saying that The Last Story and Xenoblade Chronicles are probably now assured for coming to our Shores, as testing for those games has taken place at Nintendo of America.
Unfortunately, that actually is no kind of guarantee for the release of those games here. Member Shiggy on NeoGAF pointed out that he could confirm that Xenoblade Chronicles did indeed go through testing at Nintendo of America, but that they were testing the European version of the game for the benefit of the European release of the game.
With The Last Story also slated for an upcoming release in Europe, it is totally believable that the same situation applies for it as well.
As well, the same NeoGAF thread points out that even when a game goes through testing at NoA for a North American version, that doesn’t mean the game will actually be released. DS adventure RPG ASH was completely finished, and even given an ESRB rating, but Nintendo of America still decided not to release it.
So, while it’s always possible that these two games may make it over here at some point, this latest information is absolutely no guarantee of that.
