General Grievous was the only hero character to be leaked for Star Wars Battlefront II and not be confirmed for the full game, but traces of the character in the game suggest he is still on the way.
A leak of the game’s hero characters occurred after the game’s closed alpha in early July, listing 16 different hero and villain characters for the game. Apart from Grievous, every other hero that was listed is confirmed for the game, and of the remaining 15, only Captain Phasma isn’t in the game at launch, instead coming in its first DLC drop.
The exclusive nature of Grievous’ absence is conspicuous, leading many to wonder if he will show up in the game at a later date, similar to Phasma. Recent discoveries from data mining the Battlefront II Play First trial offer evidence for this theory, as Reddit users are reporting numerous mentions of the character in the game files. Additionally, Reddit user Piplight claims to have even came across an untextured model of the character.
The developers are committed to “support this game for many years to come”, so it would be no surprise if we saw Grievous join its ranks eventually, but if the discovered data is the real deal, it tells us that he is likely not too far off.
Star Wars Battlefront II is slated to launch November 17th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and fans can check out Battlefront II‘s official launch trailer to wet their appetite.
