Code Vein

Bandai Namco has released a new gameplay trailer for Code Vein that shows off combat in a couple of the game’s locations.

The highlight of the trailer below is the finishing move used by the player that sees two armored wolf heads burst from the character’s back to finish off the enemy.

“In the not too distant future, a mysterious disaster has caused the collapse of the world as we know it. Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity’s past pierced by the Thorns of Judgment,” the game’s description reads. “At the center of the destruction lies a hidden society of Revenants called Vein. This final stronghold is where the remaining few fight to survive, blessed with Gifts of power in exchange for their memories and a thirst for blood.”

To help in their survival, players will have access to Blood Veils, devices that allow them to drain the blood of enemies and then use it to change form, increase strength, weaken enemies, and unlock new weapon abilities.

Code Vein launches later this year for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
