A new trailer for 17-Bit’s upcoming space shooter roguelike Galak-Z offers some hints and tips on how to survive the cold dark of space as a fighter pilot in the United Earth Navy.
Galak-Z was playable on the PAX East 2014 show floor, and both Eric and I managed to squeeze a few minutes each with the 2D space-faring shooter. I would say that pretty much everything in the trailer is fairly accurate. Enemies in Galak-Z are pretty unforgiving, and can’t be rolled over by playing as a blunt instrument. Rather, learning how to react on the fly with hard stops, jukes, and strafing are the key to combat success. It also helps to know when to back out of a fight and retreat to safety (hint: when your shields drop).
17-Bit’s follow-up to Skulls of the Shogun is scheduled to launch on Windows PC, PS4, and PS Vita this fall.
