The latest installment of EA Sports‘ gameplay series for NHL 15 focuses in on its new physics system.
There are two major overhauls seen this year as a result of NHL 15’s new physics engine. The first revolves around the players, making it so that all 12 athletes on the ice can directly and indirectly affect a play, in turn leading to huge collisions in the corner or massive pile-ups in front of the net.
Beyond the extension of physics to all the players on the ice at once, an even more important improvement may come in the brand new puck physics. On last-gen entries, the puck was modeled after a round ball. With the help of a Large Hadron Collider physicist, however, NHL 15 has now achieved the cylindrical shape the puck actually is, leading to even less predictable bounces as you scramble to put the biscuit in the basket.
NHL 15 skates onto store shelves on September 9 for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3.
