The Last Of Us

We still don’t have any gameplay, but a new cinematic scene from The Last of Us part II gives us a cast of unfamiliar characters and a dark new cult.

The new Paris Games Week trailer pulls the scene seemingly unedited from the game, where in a (particularly buff) young woman is being hung from a tree by a group of twisted cultists. She is saved by two other characters that appear to be brother and sister, but not before the duo let the mystery girl hang for a bit.

While there is speculation that the girl being hung is actually Ellie from the first game, post-interview comments by game director Neil Druckmann confirm that the new trailer focuses on characters apart from Ellie and Joel. It was understandably confusing, as the new character does look a lot like the Ellie we saw in the game’s announcement trailer. As for the duo that saved her and the cultists stringing her up, their identities are anyone’s guess.

The Last of Us Part II does not currently have a release date for its PS4-exclusive launch, but fans will likely learn more at the upcoming PlayStation Experience in early December.
