WWE2K14‘s latest gameplay trailer shows wrestlers old and new facing off in the ring, throwing down and using some of their most recognizable signature movies.
A proper sequel to WWE ’13, 2K14 is the first installment in the series to bear the 2K branding since Take-Two picked up the license during THQ’s bankruptcy sale. WWE 2K14 features wrestlers from across three eras—thirty years—of WWE history in its 30 Years of WrestleMania mode, including Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, The Rock, John Cena, and many others to form a roster of over 80 wrestling stars.
The 30 Years of WrestleMania mode is a single-player campaign that consists of 46 primary matches linked together through an overarching narrative with writing quality that has impressed now retired professional wrestling commentator Jim Ross.
“The writing for the new, 2K Sports WWE videogame to be released this fall is the best of any videogame I’ve ever worked on as the copy was spot on,” Ross wrote in a blog post on his official website, J.R.’s Place.
WWE 2K14 launches on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 October 29 in North America, November 1 in Europe.
