Members of the Xbox One Preview Program now have a new update to download that addresses an issue with party chat and Game DVR clips.

Version 1405 will be automatically downloaded and installed if you are part of the program and have left your console in standby mode. This update makes changes to the “Get System Update” button: from now on if no update is available the button will read “No update available” and be grayed out.

Update 1405 also fixes an issue that would cause party chat to be muted unless the Party App was snapped. The patch notes (below) also mention changes to enable “planned 1405 features,” but what these features are is unknown at the moment.

  • Updates to help address issues where Game DVR clips may be recorded without audio.
  • Underlying OS changes required to enable planned 1405 features.
  • Get System Update button change. This update changes how the system update button works under Settings->System. Now the button will say “No update available” and be greyed out when there is no update, and it will say “Update console” and be active when an update is available.
  • Update to address issues some issues users noticed where Party Chat would be quiet unless the Party App is snapped.
