THE BUZZ: Coming as a sort of side project inspired by a bonus stage in PixelJunk Shooter 2, PixelJunk Sidescroller mixes the classic world of side-scrolling shooters with Q-Games’ trademark love for stylish visuals and deep gameplay.

PixelJunk Sidescroller hits PSN next week in North America, but until then, here’s the game’s launch trailer along with a few new screenshots.

EGM’s TAKE: I had a chance to play PixelJunk Sidescroller at E3 earlier this year, and I can definitely say I’m looking forward to playing the full game. I’m a fan of old-school shooters like this, and I’m sure Q-Games has done some interesting things with the concept.
