Lead character artist Michael Knowland leaves Naughty Dog

Posted on April 28, 2014 AT 05:23am

Naughty Dog lead character artist Michael Knowland has left the studio, according to an update to his LinkedIn profile (via: superannuation).

Knowland worked with Naughty Dog for over three years as both a character artist and lead character artist for The Last of Us. He had previously worked as a character artist for Frontier Developments.

Now, with work on The Last of Us coming to and end, this may just be a simple turnover of staff, because Knowland isn’t working on Uncharted PS4—unlike previous staff who have left the studio—as far as we are aware.

Other high profile departures include Uncharted 4 game director Justin Richmond, who joined Riot Games, and Uncharted series creative director Amy Hennig, who is now penning Visceral’s Star Wars project.

We’ll update this post as soon as we know more.
