THE BUZZ: The official release date of Far Cry 3 has been revealed thanks to a leaked trailer.

The trailer was supposed to be released tomorrow by Ubisoft, but it appears that AllGamesBeta jumped the gun and published it early. The trailer has since been removed by Ubisoft.

The German trailer is purely CGI and shows a group of adventurers having fun on an unknown island until something terrible happens. Basically there’s a lot of screaming, swearing and gunshots.

At the end of the trailer a release date of September 6 is revealed. This is a Thursday, the date that games get release in Germany, so expect a September 4 release date in North America. We’ll have the full trailer for you when it officially releases tomorrow.

EGM’s TAKE: Ubisoft will not be happy about their major advertising plans being wrecked by a leak, but we’re still mighty interested in seeing an English version of the trailer. A teaser for the trailer was released yesterday which features a blacked out screen with lots of swearing and shouting. Sounds like our kind of game!
