Leaked Xbox 720 Durango Dev Kit Currently Up For Sale On eBay

If you’re in the market for a next-gen console and aren’t worried about forking over more than $14,000 on a whim, there’s a certain Xbox 360 dev kit you might want to know about. Having apparently failed to offload the leaked “Xbox Durango” dev kit on developer forums, seller “superdae” seems to be trying his luck with an eBay auction.
Curiously, the auction’s page has no detailed information about the build, its contents, or even what the device does, although the seller has stated that the item is “legitimate” and he only expects “people who know what it is” to bid on the dev kit.
Given that console development builds are legally the property of the console makers in question, the lack of information is likely a legal saving throw for the seller. It’s very likely that Microsoft could file a potential lawsuit if “superDaE” could be served papers, but he would have to be tracked down first.

Slight grammar and capitalization instances aside, the handle of the eBay seller does seem to match that of the person who provided the original leaked photos of the Xbox Durango kit, which Eurogamer’s Digital Foundry reported to be the real thing, despite a heavy amount of skepticism.
However, their sources did confirm the build to be legit, although the public at large is less than impressed about the dev kit looking like nothing more than a high-end PC tower. Of course, if it is a Xbox 720 alpha build, it certainly won’t look anything like the finished retail product that Microsoft will eventually send to shelves.
