Taking part in The Elder Scrolls Online PvP component and becoming Emperor will grant players a new skill line that they will keep for their entire in-game lifetime, director Paul Sage has revealed.
In ESO, all players have an equal shot at becoming Emperor via the game’s PvP system. Players will earn Alliance Points by killing enemies, healing allies, and taking keeps in Conquest. Once all keeps surround Cyrodil’s Imperial City have been captured the Alliance with the most AP will take control of the city. The player with the most AP on the winning Alliance will be crowned Emperor until the city is lost. Being crowned Emperor grants access to a new full skill line, which that player can keep forever, even after losing the title.
“Players who become Emperor will get a full skill line that they keep throughout the rest of their lives in The Elder Scrolls Online,” Sage told OXM. “It won’t be easy to become Emperor, but we think people will be glad they worked for it.”
When an Emperor loses the title, the skills gained will lose some power, but will still be usable by the player. Sage added that the only way to unlock this skill line is to become Emperor.
The Elder Scrolls Online is set to release April 4 on PC, with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions set to follow in June.
