Microsoft has announced that 70 million Xbox 360s have been sold worldwide since the console’s launch back in 2005.

The figure was hit on September 30, 2012. Microsoft made the announcement after revealing that there was a year-on-year decline in Xbox 360 revenues and units shipped for the first quarter of its fiscal year 2013. Earlier this week Microsoft’s U.K. branch completely squashed any rumors of a possible Christmas price cut for the console.
