As we reported early this week Lightning is set to get a new design in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, and now we’ve finally got our first glimpse at it.

Scans from a Japanese magazine showcase Lightning’s new default outfit–designed by Testuya Nomura. The new outfit seems to be quite a radical change from her fashion choices in the previous games, but I really like it. According to the magazine, more than 20 optional outfits will be available to unlock in-game.

Lightning Returns centers around the end of days–with a Doomsday Clock counting down the final 13 days of existence. No matter what the player has achieved at the end of these 13 days the game will end. You can check out the new look below.
