Limbo Successor ‘Project 2′ Details Emerge

Details on Limbo developer Playdead’s latest project have been revealed by the Danish government.

The game currently has the codename “Project 2” and will be a platformer that, ”tells the story of a boy’s struggle against evil forces trying to take over the world through questionable experiments on human bodies.” According to the government grant listing the game is being developed for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Mac.

The gameplay involves unique puzzles with 2D platforming in a 3D environment. Playdead revealed last year that Project 2 will take at least three years to complete.

Limbo is my all-time favorite downloadable title by a long way, the unique art style, addictive platforming and pseudo-love story captivated me on so many levels. If the team can re-produce the magic of Limbo with Project 2, then I will be a very happy man.
