Lionhead Job Listing Hints At Next-Gen Project

THE BUZZ: It appears that Lionhead is the next studio to begin its next-gen plans according to a recent job listing.
The listing calls for ”a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engine Programmer to be a key contributor on an unannounced title.” While the ad doesn’t name next-gen consoles specifically, it does state that applicants will require expereince working with ”modern rendering engines (DX11),” which suggests that the title won’t be coming to Xbox 360. It has been stated in the past that PC API DirectX 11 represents the benchmark for the next-generation.
It also mentions that applicants should have knowledge of Direct3D 11, OpenGL 4.x, Unreal Engine and, “real-time lighting techniques such as real-time global illumination and deferred rendering pipelines.”
EGM’s TAKE: Lionhead being a first-party Microsoft studio should know exactly what the company is planning in terms of next-gen, so if it is moving away from the Xbox 360 then surely they must be preparing for a new console. There’s no way that Microsoft would move one of its top studios off its core console and onto PC development. So what could it be working on?
What could Lionhead be working on? Maybe Fable 4? Leave your thoughts below.
