UPDATE: Lionhead has now officially announced Fable Anniversary for Xbox 360. The HD update will be available by Christmas and features new Achievements, 1080p visuals, and new lighting and animation powered by Unreal Engine 3.
The HD update will also include all of the content from Lost Chapters and utilizes an updated save system. ”It’s the game that the Fable fans have been demanding from us for years now,” lead designer Ted Timmins told Xbox Live’s Major Nelson (via CVG). ”Our art director has been working really hard to bring the game up to 360 quality levels that people expect… we’re actually using Unreal 3 to render all the lighting.
“Then we’ve got a new facial animation system and new cut-scene animations, so all of the cut-scenes look absolutely incredible now – they’re much more up to what you expect from modern day standards.
“We’ve been looking at the textures, the models, the meshes, the particle effects… the whole thing has been redone.”
ORIGINAL: Lionhead has decided to begin teasing an upcoming game announcement, however its not very good at it as it’s obviously a HD remake of Fable.
The developer took to Twitter this morning with the cryptic message:
— Lionhead Studios (@LionheadStudios) June 4, 2013
It then followed this message up with a link to the trailer below that opens with a series of Tweets from fans asking for a HD remake of 2004′s Fable and its expanded release Fable: The Lost Chapters. The game’s antagonist, Jack of Blades, also makes an appearance, and states, ”I have returned after an eternity away from you all. Jack of Blades is back.”
It all ends with the Xbox 360 logo appearing. I think it’s pretty safe to say that this teaser is attached to a HD remake of Fable, wouldn’t you? Expect to see the game announced during Microsoft’s E3 press conference on June 10.
