Warner Bros. Studios’ popular Internet series Mortal Kombat: Legacy is returning for a second season, as announced by director Kevin Tancharoen on the H+ Digital Series’ YouTube channel. And most importantly, it’s done with the filler.
Prior to the release of the 2011 video game reboot Mortal Kombat, the live-action series generated a lot of hype for the franchise with a surprisingly well-produced, long arching storyline. Even better, it had legitimate star power thanks to famous actors such as Jeri Ryan (Star Trek Voyager, Boston Public) and Michael Jai White (Spawn, Undisputed II: Last Man Standing).
According to Tancharoen, the storyline for the next season will specifically focus on the Mortal Kombat tournament, rather than character backgrounds and origin stories. Right off the bat, he also said that the team is telling you up-front which characters would be featured in upcoming episodes.
It’s a pretty large list this time around. Just watch the video below. It’s comedic gold, and tells you everything you need to know about the roster. Hopefully, they get the same guy to play Johnny Cage. His episode was the best one of the first season by a country mile. No, two country miles.
