THE BUZZ: Warner Bros. has released a new behind the scenes trailer for Lollipop Chainsaw, introducing the game’s vocal cast.
Tara Strong, the voice of many video game and cartoon characters including Harley Quinn in Batman: Arkham City, will take the role of the zombie slaying cheerleader Juliet Starling. She will be joined by Michael Rosenbaum, known for his role as Lex Luthor in Smallville, who will voice the decapitated head of her boyfriend Nick.
The rest of the cast is chock full of star power also. Firstly there’s Linda Cardelleni, best known as Lindsay Weir from Freaks and Geeks, playing Cordelia. Shawnee Smith, from the first four Saw films, and Michael Rooker of the Walking Dead are also in the game. Veteran TV and film actor Gregg Henry of Slither, Payback, The Riches and Hung, will take the role of Juliet’s father.
Sean Gunn, brother of filmmaker James Gunn, will voice Romero High School’s resident goth Swan. Finally Jimmy Urine from the band Mindless Self Indulgence, who are providing the soundtrack, will play Zed.
EGM’s TAKE: We’re loving this cast! We don’t understand why they didn’t mention Linda Cardelleni in Grandma’s Boy though, our favorite of her roles. There isn’t a bad actor in the bunch, and the choices for the leads are perfect. Lex Luthor as a talking head, that’s just inspired. This cast is just another reason that Lollipop Chainsaw is quickly becoming one of our most anticipated upcoming games. Check out the great trailer below and whet your appetite for this awesome looking actionfest.
