Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s recently launched Blackout battle royale beta has basically confirmed the return of Treyarch’s popular Theater mode.
On the beta’s main menu, there are a variety of tabs covering the game’s different modes and options. All of these tabs are locked off for the beta, aside from the Blackout battle royale mode and the in-game store, but off to the left side, players can see a tab labeled “Theater.” Those without the beta currently downloaded or active can check out an image of the menu screen below.
Theater mode was absent from the previous two Call of Duty games, but every installment of Treyarch’s Black Ops subseries has boasted the feature. This lead many to speculate that the recording feature would make a return in Black Ops 4, and if Blackout’s beta menu is any indication, it is.
Black Ops 4‘s Blackout beta is live right now for any PlayStation 4 user that preordered the game, and the beta will go live September 14th for those that preordered on any platform. The beta will run until Monday, September 17th, according to the game’s official website.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is slated to launch October 12th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
