Game Update 7, titled Shades of the Past, for Lord of the Rings Online is now available to download.

For VIP players, the update adds a free new Skirmish titled ‘Storm on Methedras.’ ”Ascend the treacherous slopes of Methedras at the southern end of the Misty Mountains to confront a foe seeking to bring supernatural forces to bear against Rohan,” explains Turbine. We expect this to be made available to all players in the future.

Everyone else will get a chance to explore the revamped Fornost in North Downs instance, which features improvements in both gameplay and graphics. Visual updates and restructured quests have also been introduced in several of the game’s zones.

Fans will be pleased at the revamped quest lines and graphic improvements made to older sections of the game, however the lack of new free content is a little disappointing.
