The third title update for Monster Hunter: World has arrived on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, bringing with it the Empress of Flame, Lunastra.
“Thanks to the help from all the hunters of the Fifth Fleet, the ecosystems of the New World continue to thrive and flourish,” Capcom writes. “Incidentally, this bloom of bioenergy also makes it a very welcoming spot for all manner of species. We’ve seen it happen with the arrival of Deviljho and the resurgence of Kulve Taroth, and now another Elder Dragon is on its way: Lunastra.”
Lunastra is more aggressive than her male companion Teostra, and has the capacity to alter the environment around her, covering it in fire. The Empress of Flame can also team with her mate Teostra and bond with him to unleash devastating attacks.
This new Elder Dragon’s arrival has also triggered a change in the Elder Dragon ecosystem leading to sightings of more powerful Tempered Elder Dragons, known as “Arch-Tempered Elder Dragons.”
Finally, players will be able to use the materials gained from defeating Lunastra to create two new armor sets and a new armor set for Palicos.
