THE BUZZ: It’s that time of year again, EA Sports has just run their annual Super Bowl simulation match and the results are in.
The simulation crowned the New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI Champions, they defeated the New England Patriots 27-24 in a dramatic match. Kicker Lawrence Tynes kicked a 40-yard field goal in the dying seconds of the game to claim victory for the Giants, who have claimed their second championship in four years. Giants Quarterback Eli Manning was named the game’s MVP, completing 25 of 39 passes with two touchdowns and an interception. The scores for each quarter are below:
| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | OT | TOTAL | |
| Patriots | 3 | 7 | 0 | 14 | 0 | 24 |
| Giants | 7 | 10 | 7 | 3 | 0 | 27 |
EGM’s TAKE: We can totally see the logic of the Madden simulation. New England hasn’t faced a really good defense yet, this post-season. And we like that it came out a squeaker. Because you can never really count out Tom Brady. Let’s just hope the game is as exciting as the score above indicates. Or else we’ll be upset that we took a whole Sunday afternoon off from playing games to watch yet another crappy championship.
