Make a team, rule the world in Ridge Racer Vita

THE BUZZ: For the upcoming PS Vita version of Ridge Racer, the game will feature a new “team combat” option.
No, this isn’t anything like Ridge Racer Unbounded, where combat means destroying the cars of other racers. Here, players can be part of one of four teams for what’s called a “Planetary League.” In this league, teams can improve their reputations by challenging daily missions and showing off their skills.
Also included in single-player portion of Ridge Racer Vita will be the “Skill Grade” system. As your current Skill Grade increases, it will directly affect the skill level of the CPU and ghost data opponents you’ll encounter.
EGM’s TAKE: As a huge fan of the Ridge Racer series—especially the last two PSP titles—I’m really looking forward to the Vita version of Ridge Racer. These new additions sound great— especially the Skill Grade system. If I understand the purpose of this option correctly, the game will adjust the difficulty of races dependent on what level of Skill Grade you’ve reached. If that’s true, then I think this’ll have a hugely positive impact on the single-player portion of the game.
