One man has taken it upon himself to recreate the Earth to a 1:1500 scale in Minecraft with the aim being to make it as geographically precise as possible. Complete madness or amazing idea?

Minecraft user Lentebriesje is going to use a tool called WorldPainter–a map generator for the game–to pull off this amazing feat. You can check out some screenshots of the project and download some of the completed pieces over at Planet Minecraft.
