Man of Medan, the first installment in The Dark Pictures Anthology, will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC from August 30th, 2019, Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games have confirmed.

In addition to announcing the release date, the publisher revealed that players who preorder the game will gain access to the Curator’s Cut at launch. The Curator’s Cut is unlocked after completing the game once and features a new perspective with alternative characters, new decisions and choices, and new scenes. The Curator’s Cut will be made available to players who do not preorder for free at a later date.

“The Curator’s Cut is different to the traditional Director’s Cut as it gives the player new ways to directly influence the story and its outcomes. Players will see and change events and relationships from the perspective of characters that weren’t under control in their first playthrough,” Pete Samuels, Executive Producer on The Dark Pictures Anthology at Supermassive Games, said.

“It adds a whole new layer to how the player understands and interacts with the story in a way that’s never been done before, and we’re excited for people to experience it.”

Bandai Namco also shared a new trailer for the game that offers a tour of the game’s ship setting and offers a brief look at some of the choices players will be making. Watch it below:
