THE BUZZ: Nintendo has revealed some brand new details regarding Mario Kart 7’s online mode, at a recent Nintendo press conference in Japan.

Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo, reiterated that the game will support eight players online while running at 60FPS. There will also be a Mario Kart channel which will collect data from StreetPass, including the ghosts of other players. SpotPass will offer a daily downloadable ghost file for you to race against and you can download individual ghosts from the channel also.

EGM’s TAKE: The Mario Kart formula has been repeated for many years, however it is only just breaking into online territory and should breathe a whole new life into the franchise.
