Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Remade With 2D Sprites, Looks 100 Times Better

Posted on July 12, 2012 AT 11:06am

Despite the fact that the fighting game community has accepted Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Ultimate MVC3, some of us can’t help but sigh at the fact that the series moved away from its 2D roots. Thankfully, there are people on Deviant Art like “steamboy33” who can still carry that 2D pixel torch.

Spotted by IPlayWinner, steamboy33 recent posted some artwork of just about every fighter on the roster and combined them all into a team mash-up last month. It looks just stellar.

Given the success of MVC3, I’m hoping that someone at Capcom sees this, slaps a developer upside the head, and tells them to get working on a 2D remake of the game.

No, really.

Put it on XBLA and PSN, Capcom. You’ll make millions.
