Marvel vs Capcom

The Reddit user who leaked Injustice 2‘s Fighter Pack 3 is back with more teases of what could possibly be coming down the line, but this time, the focus is on Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and Street Fighter V.

According to user DasVergeben on the Kappa subreddit, the second season of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite‘s DLC characters is set, while many additional fighters are being prepared for release at a later time. Starting with season two’s roster, the user warns the compiled list of possible new characters come from different sources that had varied answers but will likely feature Star-Lord, Ms. Marvel, Asura, Gill, and Lady. The final addition is where the sources apparently vary, but the names mentioned are Street Fighter’s Rashid, Dino Crisis’ Regina, and Ace Attorney’s Apollo Justice.

As for the other new characters players could expect to arrive up through season five of DLC, the roster will pull in a wide variety of both Marvel and Capcom fighters. Several long-awaited X-Men characters, like Wolverine, Cyclops, Psylocke, Magneto, Storm, and Deadpool, are in the running, as well as Doctor Doom from Fantastic Four and Spider-Man’s Green Goblin. Since the launch of Infinite, players have complained about the lack of X-Men characters, which makes the leak a bit more plausible, as Capcom is likely trying to appease the players looking for staple characters from the series. More Capcom characters are mentioned, including Captain Commando, Breath of Fire’s Nina and Deis, God Hand protagonist Gene, Devil May Cry 4‘s Vergil, and Street Fighter’s Akuma. Apart from new modes and graphical updates that could appear in future updates to the game, the user also states a source confirmed Infinite will ultimately house “between 58 to 60 characters.”

As for the purported Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition leaks, the user states “season [three] characters include Sagat, Sakura, Cody, Sodom, two newcomers (I heard two Final Fight newcomers from one source, but Roxy and a Shadaloo Doll from another).” Also, as part of the same update, free characters Crimson Viper, Q, Necro, and Oro will allegedly be available.

While the potential leaks are enticing, DasVergeben continually says some of the characters mentioned were not confirmed by more than one source, which means they have the possibility of being just a rumor and never appearing in the games. The post also called out some Infinite fighters who’ve previously leaked, like Ant-Man and Regina, noting that they’ve been held back from release due to technical issues. However, another possible reason for Regina’s delay is an upcoming Dino Crisis reboot game and the opportunity for cross-promotion.

While the user doesn’t divulge who the sources are, DasVergeben has at least one thing lending them credibility. The user correctly leaked the inclusion of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Enchantress to Injustice 2‘s Fighter Pack 3, which was recently confirmed by NetherRealm Studios in a new trailer.
